February 12, 2001
I'm excited to announce that some of my recent work will be airing on the FOX Network. Digital Dimension created the animated opening for FOX's new NASCAR coverage, starting with the Daytona event, scheduled to air on Sunday, February 18th, at 10am PST (1pm EST). The scope of the project did not end with the NASCAR opening: Be on the lookout for a handful of specialty animations we created which demonstrate NASCAR racing concepts such as "drafting" and "camber" among others.

While I worked on various portions of this project as part of a team effort, there are a few specific areas where you can pick out work largely done by me: One is the "phantom" car that materializes onto the track. I was also responsible for assembling the 3D elements for the finishing sequence, for which I wrote a custom, object-based particle system. The reason for the custom particle system should hopefully be apparent when you see the open.

So if you get a chance, please tune in and check it out. I would also be interested in everyone's opinion of the piece.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Okay, "soon" is a relative term. This is the first day I've had in months to update my site. Here's the news:

Much has happened in recent months. Back in September I started a five-week contract with DigitalDimension of North Hollywood, California, which wrapped up in late October. Things went very well, and they asked me to come on board full time. So, in mid November I permanently relocated to California. This is an exceptionally positive move for my career, and I'm very excited about the new challenges ahead, namely in the area of feature film visual effects work.

September 17, 2000
More news coming soon. So much going on lately, I haven't had time to update my site.

June 1, 2000
I've put a little bit of content in both the new UFO section and the new Movies&Films section. As always, I encourage feedback! I've also done some minor updating of my Resume page. And I'm moving to an 800x600 format for this site. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some design work done soon.

I would also like to remind everyone that you can receive e-mail notifications when this page is updated by entering your e-mail address in the form at the bottom of this page.

I've just added a couple new sections to my site while waiting for some test renders to complete. There's no content in them yet, but hopefully I'll have some info in there soon. BTW, if you want a good laugh, head over to www.mediatrip.com, and check out the trailer for Los Gringos.

April 19, 2000
Thanks to my friend Mike for pointing me to this. If you haven't seen it, this is hilarious! It's a Flash version of Star Wars! Now why didn't I think of that? Episode IV:A New Dude

Wow, has it really been over five months since I last updated my site? Well, here's what's been happening with me: I used my "sabbatical" time to do technical research and test clips for my reel, and also to do freelance animation work. No, I don't have anything I'm comfortable showing from my research at this point, but I hope to turn at least some of it into animations that I'll put up here for everyone to see. My current video project is quite exciting, and I'm looking forward to getting some clips up here upon it's completion for everyone to see. Stay tuned! I'm going to try and get back on track with regular updates for everyone.

November 8, 1999
Discreet (Kinetix) has posted some benchmarks for graphics accelerators for MAX 3. You can find the link on my MAX Resources page.

November 1, 1999
Just a personal update: I've resigned from Nucleus Communications in order to redirect my efforts towards visual effects. As of November 1st I'm officially on "sabbatical". My primary focus is to build a new reel that refects my abilities. I will be accepting freelance animation/FX work during this time, so feel free to call or send me an e-mail if you need some help. I tend to screen my calls, so don't be shy about leaving a message.

October 18, 1999
My Camera Tracking notes are now available. Visit my MAX Resources page, or click here to go directly to my notes.

October 12, 1999

I've done some reorganization and addition. I've decided to axe the Links and Files pages and combine them with the new MAX Resources page. Some of the files previously available on the Files page are now available on my Gallery page.

March 03, 1999
I'm switching to a textual interface for a while. I've been meaning to update my site for ages, but the GUI was holding me up. This way I can keep the data here more current and work on the GUI in the background. I always like to hear feedback on my work and my site, so don't be shy.
